Six Word Poem – Mon seul souhait.

Enterrez-moi sous un ciel blue étincelant.

(English translation)

Bury me, underneath sparkling blue skies.

In the woods by the river settle,we can settle down

We can build a home, far away from town

“Liberty and justice for all,”

What does that mean to you?

Closed minds, closed hearts, closed borders –

Land of the free, home of the…

Fearful of those unlike us,

Of the unknown.

And what of fraternity, diversity, equality, due process?

Liberty and justice, for whom?

Snowcapped mountains in the distance,

An expanse of sand and ever-blue sky,

Wind rustles in through the open windows,

Reverberates like a high fidelity whisper.

When all else is dim and hope seems far gone,

Let’s hold this moment dear,

Alone together, riding in the open air.
