Bio

Hayden Winston is a multilingual, bisexual, Caribbean writer and activist. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership at UNC-Chapel Hill. His work draws on his experiences growing up in Los Angeles as the queer son of West Indian immigrants.

His father hails from the Crichlow family of Trinidad & Tobago, celebrated for their contributions to arts and culture. His mother is a member of Saint Lucia’s Combie family, renowned for a legacy spanning business, healthcare, and law.

Hayden holds a BSc in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Legal Studies. He is an active member of several nonprofit organizations, including the American LGBTQ+ Museum, the Purdue for Life Foundation, and oSTEM. He writes in English, French, and occasionally Saint Lucian Kwéyòl. He resides in Northern California with his husband and their two cattle dog mixes.
