Caged Bird (In the City)

Go to work
Come home and clean
Take vacations to feel free
Just want to grab my lover and head to the shore
Or back to the woods
No rules anymore

Feet on the ground now so I don’t miss a step (except for when I’m falling all over my lover).

Practicing patience, keeping the inner-self still.

Present passing by, future slowly more clear. A rush and a push, we’ve come all the way here.

Take a second, take a minute, enjoy and u n w i n d.

Untangled from your crimson ties

Underneath a pale pink sky

The city moves and I move with it,

Pulsing to the rythym of the engines, on nearby cars stuck in traffic.
Slide through heavy crowds of people working, roaming around Downtown,

Then when the sun falls, I meander back to my little village.

The city moves and I move with it,

But at the end I must admit, nothing beats a glass of wine in the bathtub.
